Justin Nordstrum is the Head of Engineering at DataCapable, where he leads engineering and product strategy for SaaS platforms that deliver real-time event detection, analytics, and GIS-based visualization for the utility industry. With more than a decade of experience building and operating large-scale, distributed systems, Justin focuses on designing resilient software that performs under pressure, especially during major outage and storm events. Prior to DataCapable, Justin held senior engineering and testing leadership roles at IBM and Cleversafe, where he worked on cloud identity, storage platforms, and automation frameworks used across enterprise-scale environments. His background spans architecture, reliability engineering, automation, and mentoring high-performing engineering teams. Justin brings a systems-first mindset to critical infrastructure software, emphasizing fault isolation, defensive design, and operational resilience so utilities can focus on serving customers rather than fighting fires.
