Our team is excited to announce that for the fourth time, DataCapable, Inc., has been named a Top 100 Geospatial Company by GeoAwesomeness.com. This annual list highlights the best geospatial companies in the world, and it’s an honor to be once again included among industry leaders. It is an essential source of information on companies utilizing geospatial data and tools to solve problems, helping communities to make sense of the ever-changing geospatial industry ecosystem.

Using GIS to Stay Ahead of Threats

Also named to the list is Esri, a geospatial mapping company and DataCapable’s trusted partner. Esri powers the DataCapable® Platform™ that includes Threat Detector, Outage & Event Map, and Community Portal. These web-based modules give business, government, utilities, and the public the information they need to act quickly wherever threats and other hazards require an urgent response—before they become a wider threat to operations and public safety.

“The GeoSpatial industry is more important on the global stage than ever, so we are very honored to be named to this list for the fourth time,” said Pete DiSalvo, CEO and co-founder of DataCapable®. “It’s a nice confirmation, not just that we remain on the forefront of GIS technology, but that we are using it effectively to help our Partners improve safety and communication during crises and high-impact events.”

Geoawesomeness sent out an open call for nominations in late 2022. The companies voluntarily answered 23 questions regarding their vision and business operations and were then evaluated by a committee of 16 esteemed members – Dr. Nadine Alameh, Justyna Redelkiewicz, Chiara Solimini, Carly Morris, Wilfred Waters, Olivia Powell, Sives Govender, Jonathan Neufeld, Osamu Ochiai, Ng Siau Yong, Denise McKenzie, Maggie Cawley, Holli Howard, Esther Ogbu, Aleksander Buczkowski, and Muthukumar Kumar. Based on those answers, committee members used their discretion and industry insight to select companies for the list.

Geospatial Intelligence Saves Lives

To handle increased weather events brought on by climate change, or threats from malicious actors (cyber or otherwise), governments and emergency management teams can benefit from enhanced, real-time situational awareness. Effective communication across internal teams and with the public will facilitate fast, targeted solutions— ultimately saving lives and reducing stress during a crisis.

If your team wants to be better prepared, DataCapable can help you bring the world into closer focus. Our Threat Detector module eliminates the communications gap by using patented artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning—backed by 24/7 human-in-the-loop verification by trained analysts—to alert stakeholders in the critical early moments of a crisis.
